Safety

The facts are hidden behind the marketing hype! Detox footbaths and detox foot spas have been on the market since the mid 1990's. There has never been a noted injury from electrocution or from sub-standard safety in manufacturing. Users have reported no issues with proper usage of these machines. The safety track record of these devices is very good. All of the footbaths on the market are deemed a low power device by UL. They barely regulate these lower power devices. The protection you need to be concerned with is the power supply's ability to protect you from the large power grid you plug into. All of the units we can find seem to do this quite adequately.

IonChi™ Detox Foot Spa is CE compliance - This European safety designation is self declared . This means that the manufacturer is stating they conform to the standard. It is the European equivalent to UL in the USA.

A company called “A Major Difference” has begun a marketing campaign of safety. This seems to basically be a marketing ploy to justify the very high price of their footbath. With an additional $1000 in profit margin per machine (don't be deceived by their site, their cost of manufacturing is similar to other US products), they claim to have run many very expensive safety tests on the many footbaths on the market. Actually the reports are from a “consulting group” that is actually a woman named Holly Sprackling. The address for the company turns out to be a house in the back of a subdivision! All attempts to verify these reports have failed. The safety issue has no grounding in facts. A lot of the other manufacturers have been forced to respond in kind on the issue of safety in their marketing. Read below and the truth comes out how the ion cleanse manufacturer actually distorts facts, and quotes law that does not exist (once you dig deep enough). Worst of all, they produce no testing of their current unit, while claiming safety testing for it.

Created to instill fear and sell an over-priced product!

Overall we wish to tell you that the “safety issue” brought to these machines by ion cleanse is not grounded in facts. It has only brought unwanted attention to the alternative health market for detox foot spas. We have repeatedly attempted to get ion cleanse to confirm/verify the statements made on their site. They continue to not participate. Don't take our word for it. Call them. Ask for current testing on their current machine. If they give you anything, it will be a self verification signed by the owner of ion cleanse, this is not valid. Don't take any excuses from them. Call Sprackling Consulting, and you will find similar results. It is also important to note that they continue to claim others units fail testing when they won't provide it or explain to anyone why. The average consumer will take these pages on their site for the truth; we can only assume this is what they are betting on.
